GT AGGRESSOR PRO (2022) – BLUE

The Aggressor Pro is a brand new entry-level mountain bike from GT. It’s got an aluminium frame, disc brakes, front suspension and reliable gears.

Overall, the Aggressor Pro would be perfect for riders spending time on bike paths, rail trails and smooth off-road tracks.

In this preview, we’re going to explain a little bit about the Aggressor Pro:

First, the frame is made from aluminium. It also features GT’s iconic “triple-triangle” design.

All the cables run outside the frame, so although it may not look as clean as the GT Avalanche range, it is much easier to maintain brake and gear cables.

There are mounts for rear pannier racks and baby seats too.

The Aggressor Pro also features mechanical disc brakes.

At this price point, you see mechanical V-brakes. Disc brakes are safer and better.

Why?

Because they deliver more stopping power in both dry and wet conditions. Descending down steep hills is also safer; you don’t need to pull on the brake lever as much to start slowing down.

Now the gears:

microSHIFT has been around since 1999. They are small but their quality punches way above their size, testing Shimano’s entry and mid-range components.

Their growth has been nothing short of amazing. And we’re now seeing microSHIFT components on so many new bikes.

The Aggressor Pro uses microSHIFT’s mid-range 8 speed groupset. There’s 8 gears on the back and 3 gears on the front, delivering a total of 24 gears.

Perfect for family bike rides on gentle bike paths and light off road use.

The Aggressor Pro’s front suspension handles small impacts on smooth surfaces just fine. But for mountain biking, isn’t recommended where there’s constant mid and large sizes impacts.

Lastly, the Pro is complete with aluminium double wall rims for strength and durability.
